2019 Youth Jamboree Information

The 31st Annual Youth Jamboree is fast approaching. Attached is this year’s information packet which includes all the clinic forms, meal reservations, scholarship application and sponsorship form. The theme this year is “My Horse -The Movie or TV Star.” Be creative with your stall decorating and other contest entries. The essay topic is “Inspired from the Golden Ages of TV & The Big Screen Why I think My Horse Could Have Been in The Movies.” There have been numerous famous horses in movies and on television so do a little research and see which one works best for your horse.
New this year is a clinic titled “101 TIPS for HORSE PARENTS.” Ginny Stammetti joins us to share her years of experience as a “horse parent” and we encourage all parents to attend these sessions. Cheyenne West will be a great addition to our clinicians this year. She is Dale Brown’s right hand person of Dale Brown Performance Horses. Returning this year will be Karen Miller, Norma Karst, Teresa Underwood, Eliza Ginn, Carmen Blythewood, Brook Fuchs, Victoria Shaw and Amy Nichols. We are offering trail rides again this year lead by the Banks Crossing Saddle Club. we ask that you sign up ahead of time. We need to split the rides into two evenings and smaller groups to make sure everyone is safe. The participation was outstanding last year and we look forward to another.

We have two lunch time guest speakers this year. Seminole Feeds and Neigh Gallop Green Fly Spray. Be sure to attend. We also have Christy Wallrich-Berry Photography joining us to capture those special moments during the week. Be sure to visit with Christy to see your photographs.
Christine Johnston is offering two Youth Jamboree attendance scholarships again this year. The application is included in the packet. Once again Coke Cola has gracious provided us with the higher education scholarship to be awarded to the most improved student. The clinicians and I help determine the winner so be sure to work hard in all your clinics. Friends of the late Susan Obermiller will award another education – “Love of Learning Scholarship” to a rider who is aging out of the program. This will be the second year for this award.  A big thank you for Mary’s Tack & Feed of Athens, GA (Karen Miller) for helping with the prizes and other items. A shout out to Deanna Kaminski for her efforts with promotional items and arranging the trail ride leaders, photographer and guest speakers.
As you fill out the paperwork, be sure to pay close attention to the deadline dates and mailing addresses. It takes an enormous amount of help to make Youth Jamboree happen, therefore certain paperwork must go to specific people and on time.
We are working on securing a hotel to offering discounted rates. Once this is solidified I will email that information to everyone.
Please email your questions and concerns should you need assistance. I look forward to seeing everyone in July.
